Architecture in Action

“Architecture plays a critical role in shaping identities, building communities and meeting the urgent demands of both the present and our collective futures,” said the 2025 Conference Steering Committee.

“The 2025 Australian Architecture Conference brings together speakers from around Australia and abroad to share stories of Architecture in Action, stories that demonstrate the capacity of design to instigate positive change, regenerate the planet and chart a sustainable and equitable future for humanity.”

Join us in Sydney from 02-03 May 2025, with the iconic Sydney Opera House and the University of Sydney’s Seymour Centre setting the stage for this landmark gathering. Renowned for its vibrant cultural landscape and architectural heritage, Sydney provides the perfect backdrop for this year’s exploration of the intricate challenges shaping our built environment.

The 2025 program will focus on global and local imperatives – climate resilience, artificial intelligence, and housing equity – offering fresh insights and innovative strategies to craft a future that is both adaptable and enduring.

More than an event – the Australian Architecture Conference is a movement that sparks ideas and builds community among those who imagine, create, and influence the spaces we inhabit.

Steering Committees

The Conference’s steering committees represent a diverse cross-section of Australian architecture, bringing together voices from across regions, backgrounds, and areas of expertise.

These teams ensure the program reflects a wide range of perspectives, addressing the unique challenges and opportunities within Australia’s built environment.

Their insights shape an inclusive program that speaks to the evolving landscape of Australian architecture.
