Carey Lyon

Carey Lyon is a founding Director of well-known Australian architectural design practice Lyons, and a Professor at the School of Architecture and Urban Design at RMIT University in Melbourne. His practice’s work was recognised in 2002 and 2018 with the Victorian Architecture Medal and in 2000 by representing Australia at the Venice Architecture Biennale. Carey was elected by his peers as National President of the Australian Institute of Architects in 2006/2007 and has also been a Board Member of the Green Building Council of Australia, as well as a member of the Victorian Design Review Panel. He has been awarded a Life Fellowship from the Australian Institute of Architects and the Presidential Medal from the American Institute of Architects. His work has been extensively published nationally and internationally, including a major monograph by Thames and Hudson called more-the architecture of Lyons 1996-2011.
