Check-in and registration

As we continue to deliver a low-waste conference this year, we are moving to digital registration without physical lanyards. Your Conference App (The Institute AU) is your ticket to the event. 
 
Ensure you have downloaded and logged into the app prior to your arrival.  
Search for ‘The Institute AU’ in the Play Store or the App Store. 
 
Login and user information is found below.

Conference App

All conference information and access is via the app.

We have launched a new app this year with enhanced functionality.  If you attended the 2024 Australian Architecture Conference, please note this year’s app is not the same. 

The app houses your scheduled agenda, pre-selected session choices, venue maps, CPD assessments tracking and Digital Business Card to simplify check-in.

Please arrive with your  Digital Business Card displayed to help streamline the check-in process.  

Day 1 – Sydney Opera House | Friday, 2 May

  • Arrive from 7:30am for registration. Here is a map with info on carpark entry and entry to the venue. The Conference commences at 8:30am with a Welcome to Country. The Day 1 schedule can be found here.  

  • Grab yourself a complimentary coffee from our Major Partner, Fielders Lysaght – look out for the “Brewing Innovation” signage. Please note no hot beverages are permitted inside the Concert Hall.

     

  • Check in via The Institute AU app. available on both the Play Store and App store.  or scan the QR  codes above to download. Login with you email and Institute password.

     

  • Open your Digital Business Card in the app for our team to scan your QR code. A Help Desk will be available for any app issues on the day. Look out for our team in green shirts for assistance.

     

  • Please review Sydney Opera House Safety & Security information – all attendees are subject to bag checks and security screening. Prohibited items are listed here and smoking is not permitted anywhere on Sydney Opera House grounds, including all outdoor areas.

Day 2 – Seymour Centre | Saturday, 3 May

  • Arrive from 8:00am for registration and grab another free coffee from the Fielders Lysaght coffee cart.

     

  • Check in via The Institute AU app.  
    Open your Digital Business Card in the app for our team to scan your QR code. A Help Desk will be available for any app issues on the day. Look out for our team in green shirts for assistance.

     

  • The Exhibition will be open from 8:00am, please note that there is no cloak room provided and no parking available on site. Details on how to get to the venue can be found here. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the University of Sydney grounds, including all outdoor areas.

     

  • Day 2 will consist of a series of concurrent sessions, allowing you to curate your day and achieve your formal CPD points. There are limited places in some sessions, and you must register for your chosen sessions prior to the event.

     

  • If you have not already registered for your Day 2 CPD sessions, please register your choices through the portal (members.architecture.com.au > My Events > Click on the event name). Access to the portal is also available via the app. Pre-registration for CPD sessions is required to complete your CPD requirements. 

CPD Information

Architects can obtain 9 formal CPD points over Day 1 and Day 2

  • An additional 8 formal CPD points will be available to all delegates through our Refuel partners, who will offer online learning opportunities in the weeks following the conference.

     

  • During the in-person conference, 4 formal CPD points are available on Friday, 2 May and 5 formal CPD points are available on Saturday, 3 May.

     

  • Formal CPD requires active in-session participation between presenters and the audience, including discussion of the assessment component. Please refer to your registration board for information about your individual annual CPD requirements.

     

  • All delegates participating in formal CPD will require a mobile/tablet device with internet to access the assessment. No paper handouts with assessment questions will be available during the sessions.

  • Use the app to scan session QR codes and complete CPD assessments via session listings to receive your certificates. Assessments will be available from your e-learning portal.

Fringe event information

Archi-Party 

  • For those attending Archi-Party at the Chau Chak Wing Museum, a cloak room will be available on the night
  • Smoking is not permitted anywhere on site including outdoor areas 
  • There is no parking available at the venue, information on how to get there can be found here.   
     

Sydney Unlocked Walking Tours 

  • The Sydney Unlocked Walking Tours will take place on Friday 2nd May, immediately following the close of Day 1 
  • The assembly and check-in point for the tours will be at the bottom of the Grand Stairs outside of the Sydney Opera House, unless you are attending the Sydney Opera House tour, which will meet outside the box office. Tour placards will help you find your way! 
  • Our tour guides will be making use of audio software to assist attendees in hearing the host throughout the tour.  Attendees will be able to download the audio app and should bring headphones with them so they are able to hear clearly. 
  • Please note ALL Walking Tours will involve walking from the Opera House to the tour site, so we encourage comfortable shoes. Please contact us if you have any accessibility requirements. 

Equity and Excellence Breakfast 

  • The Equity and Excellence Breakfast will be taking place on Saturday, 3 May at Sydney University.
  • Entrance for both breakfasts will be through the Wilkinson Building courtyard at 148 City Road, Darlington, NSW, 2006 
  • Attendees should arrive from 7:00am, to commence at 7:20am.
