Nancy Levinson

Nancy Levinson is the editor/executive director of Places Journal, which aims to harness the power of public scholarship to promote equitable cities and resilient landscapes. Over the past decade she has led the journal’s transition from print to digital, advanced the editorial mission of rigorous and accessible scholarship, and, in collaboration with Princeton University Press, overseen the launch of Places Books. Previously she was founding director of the Phoenix Urban Research Lab at Arizona State University and co-founding editor of Harvard Design Magazine at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. Nancy has been a fellow at the Canadian Centre for Architecture, and contributed to numerous periodicals, including Architectural Record, Landscape Architecture Magazine, the Journal of Planning Literature, the Journal of the Society of Architectural Historians, and Perspecta. She is an adjunct associate professor in the faculty of Art, Design & Architecture at Monash University.
